Anyone running AMD?

Anyone running AMD?

Postby DJ Spencer on Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:15 am

Wow. I had a chance to really play with this hardware at MBLV this year, and I had hoped that it would be more popular. Either no one has issues with it, or people are far less enthusiastic about it than I thought. Just not a lot of posts here.

Anyway, I was curious if anyone here is running their setup on a 64-bit AMD system? Serato's website strongly advises against using AMD for both SSL and Itch, citing audio lags and drop-outs. While I could use my MacBook Pro, I have another AMD based laptop that I've been using as my primary music library. Seriously, it's primary function is to run iTunes and Denon MM to setup my DNHD2500 and DNS1200 drives. I have installed (and run) Traktor successfully, but I'd rather move to Itch, and probably via the HC5000.

So let's hear it -- what chip are you running, and what issues have you had?

I am running Serato Scratch Live and VDJ on a Toshiba Satellite with no problems.

AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile
1.79 Ghz
Win XP Pro SP3

Note I have not run video in Serato yet but have with no issues with it in VDJ.
