Avoid all the issues...a long long time ago...In a galax....(Sorry, wrong sheet of paper)... A while back, if you wanted to DJ from harddrives, you had to default to a lappy or PC - with all the compatibility issues, of PC hardware, previous remnants of installed pc software and drivers, Operating systems, patches, memory sizes, processor, overheating...the list goes on.
Thankfully, now...whilst you can plug most Denons into USB on a lappy, and use the Denons to control "DJ" software on the lappy, theres a much more straightforward way. Most of the Denons units will now bypass all that lappy stuff, and let you plug a hard drive or pen drive full of tunes into the back of the unit and an optional keyboard for lightning fast searchs of songs, and hey presto, you're there. Going on a recent poll, this is now the most popular way of this forums members DJing from a hard drive.
It's a sure sign that Vinyl is on the way out when fewer and fewer people are able to spell "vinyl" anymore.
